Applying for and interviewing for a job at a rival company while you still have a job?

Noell asked:

I work for a law firm right now, and applied for another job at a different law firm (for the same job). The other law firm is larger and has a few offices all over the USA and a couple offices in China. The law firm that I work for now has only one office, and not much room for me to advance (I am currently a file clerk). Anyway, I received a call wanting me to come and interview for the job and I *KNOW* that they are going to ask me why I want to leave the firm I am at now, even though I’ve been here for almost 5 years. How do I best answer this question, without them thinking I’m a “law firm hopper” or something like that? Also, they can keep my job inquiry confidential from my current company, correct?

I applied for the same job at this other law firm because it is bigger, has more offices, and looks to be a better fit for me because there are many opportunities for advancement. Should I tell them that? Or…?

Why do Americans have bad impression on Chinese government?

coolbun2003 asked:

Why do I always hear negative stuff from Americans trying to criticise the Chinese government, when our country has been peaceful and developing at a very fast pace all these years, whereas the US is having wars and trouble everywhere?

I just don’t understand.
Why do they call us axis of evil, when the government is trying to develop good relationship with most countries now.

Why do they call us bad human right? when we didn’t have any invasion against other countries, and most citizens in mainland, China are happy with the laws and regulative system?

Why do they say we are a threat, when we don’t spend more than half of our budget like some country into our military expense? and when we haven’t invaded anyone all these years?

Why do they say communism is bad, when it is working very well in China, and the overall development of China is thriving under the communist system?

Why do they say communism never works, when any idealism can’t be 100% achieved, includin democ.

waynesworldstage asked:

If not, then the toy makers in China are not breaking the law. The people breaking the law are the “American” capitalists who buy these products from Chinese companies and then sell them in the USA. We should start to enforce our laws. Why not start with “truth in advertising?”

♥ Mrs. Edward Cullen ♥ asked:

How come in China you have to have a permit to have a baby? Why can’t you have as many kids as you want? I know there are over a billion people there, and it gets crowded. But I’m pretty sure that there is a lot of open land that they could build no cities in! My mom was watching a show about a woman who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, but she has to give her up, and it makes me want to cry. So, why?

How are the product safety laws and product liability laws in Nigeria?

Niklas N asked:

Hi!

I’m making a small presentation at university about China exporting cars to Nigeria. While this is great for the economy, it raises questions about the low quality and potentially dangerous cars that China produces, in developing countries such as Nigeria.

I would like to know more about the product safety laws and liability laws in Nigeria. Are there enough regulations to protect consumers from faulty products?

What do you think is the benefit for Nigeria and the economy of importing cheap cars that people can afford, compared to Western cars which aren’t affordable?

Very irritating chinese mother in law.how do i deal?

amaus22 asked:

I haven’t seen ANY posts on a mother in law like myne. She is chinese, but has lived in America for over 20 years. She still has her broken english and at times is very nieve. She is a nice person, but very, very annoying and irritating to be around. When we had to move her out of her house, she did not pack hardly anything up, and me and my mom had to do it all…not once did we get a “thank you”. In the beginning she would come over and just walk right in our house without even knocking…until we told her to knock!

Since then, my husband and I have had 3 kids, she has 2 days off each week and wants to see the kids every week she has off. She does not discipline, help out around the house with things ( i have 7 month old twins and a 2 year old), she lets my 2 year old get away with anything & everything and is OVERLY excited everytime she comes to see the kids. ( i mean the excitement lasts the entire time, from the moment she walks in the door.
She buys diapers for the kids, and sometime will buy us food. I am grateful she wants to do this, but even when we tell her not to buy anything, she does anyway. I feel like this is her way of keeping my husband on a leash and making him & I feel guilty if we do not spend every week with her. I have gotten to the point where i don’t even want her around that much…she never listens on how i want my kids to be raised or disciplined, and never asks how I am feeling or if it’s a good day to come over, she just expects that every day is a good day. She has even asked to see us on my hubby’s days off, and then expects it to be every day off he has, when that is the time i’d like to spend with him.

My husband has been hurt by me not wanting to spend every week with her coming over to see the kids, but I just can’t do it anymore, and I just need some space from her. She hired a nanny when my hubby was little to take care of him,so i think she is making up for lost time with my kids
my hubby also feels that i should say and act the way it would make him happy. I cannot be fake all the time and be someone i am not. He wants me to tell him what he wants to hear and not how i feel about it. I think he should back me up first being that i’m his wife, but he doesn’t put me first. He tells me i’m mean, even though i have always been cordial to his mom when she is around. I tell him how i really do wish we could be the best friend type, but we are so different! ***Oh, and he is 1/2 chinese, not full, does not speak the chinese language and grew up more with his dad.
**Oh, another thing…( i could go on and on) She does not listen like she understands, but she does understand. We have to tell her over and over about little things like not letting my 2 year old get away with certain things or touch the breakables in the house! I think she acts more nieve than she really is!
