David asked:

These are classes at school, and need them translated for a Chinese essay. I don’t think online translations get the context:

– “Intercultural Communications”
– “Communication (Studies)”
– “Law (Law class)”
– “Political Science”
– “Sociology”
– “Race (racial) studies”

Also some other words:

– “Richmond, British Columbia”
“Bellevue” (, Washington)
– “Buddhist Temple (the International Buddhist Temple in Richmond, BC)”
– “Aberdeen Center” (in Richmond BC)
– “to go camping”
– “Memorial Day” (U.S. holiday)
– “Long Beach” (in L.A., California)

Thanks!

What law career should i pursue to be able to use languages: International Law?

r123 asked:

I am interested in law school once I finish college, but I want to practice some kind of law where I would get to use languages. I am working on my French fluency and am also studying Chinese. What is the best field? I am not particularly interested in Public International Law, but am interested in International Business Law. I am not interested in living abroad or travelling every week of the year, but more of something where I would travel once in a while to other countries to negotiate deals, etc. Do most firms have lawyers who specialize in dealings abroad, and would they actually use languages?

Phil_joe asked:

There is a article in Chinese saying that in California, even you are an adult, you have to make sure no one can see your TV screen from outside the house when you are watching the porns. Is that true? If yes, could you help to list the related law terms? Thanks.

John P asked:

I am a US Citizen and my wife is an MD/PhD Scientist who has been in the USA for 9 years. We married in Dec 2005, and filed for her Green Card in February 2006 and had our interview in June 2006, when we were told the FBI hasn’t completed their background check yet and it could take several months to several years. I heard that Chinese Scientist are having to sue the Federal Government to get action and it seems to work. I was told by my senator’s office (Maria Cantwell’s Office) to wait six months before suing. They were the ones that told me that law suits seem to get some action in getting the background check done.
