It apparently was totally random. We will never know because the
murderer throw himself off the tower. The gentleman, his wife and his
daughter were visiting a famous Bell tower there. They had a Chinese tour guy. This guy just showed up out of the blue and stabbed the man and the wife and the tour guide. The gentleman died the wife is in
serious condition as is the tour guide. The daughter was not hurt. It is
just some nut job going crazy.

It was reported that it was random. A man attacked a couple, the husband died and the wife is in the hospital, and then he commited suicide. It’s a terrible way to start off the Olympics!

no, i think the coach was born in china but he was an american citizen and coach of the volleyball team, well, that guy got stabbed by a Chinese person who after stabbing the coach, committed suicide by jumping off a building, but it was totally random,

It is a random killing. The guy was from another city of China and had no job in Beijing. Based on the news, he had two failed marriages before and a son in jail. He had big hope on his son, gave all the money he could make to his son, but the son just end up at the jail. So he hated the world.

He was stabbed to death by a 47 year old man from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in Beijing, another American woman was wounded and a Chinese guide was wounded too.
EDIT: I think I can figure out why he stabbed the American—-he’s only 47 and already retired from factory, he must worked in a state owned factory and it brankrupted, so he lost salary and he wouldn’t be able to compete with youth coz he neither has diploma nor he has age advantage, basically he’s doomed. So he wanna get back at this society by making a little fuss, apprently stabbing a local Chinese wouldn’t be reported or drew any attention at all, so he stabbed a American.

No one really knows why he did it yet.
The stabbing took place at the Drum tower in Beijing.
You could be right that it MAY had been something against Americans.
I say this because people that do go on stabbing rampages don’t normally stop until they are stopped but then again his is China.
