I realize recent laws have been passed to stiffen inspections of imports, but is there a need to do something else?

  1. Ralph Nader has made himself a joke…I don’t think any of the electable candidate will voluntarily deal w/ this issue, you have to remember that China is our #1 trading partner. I don’t think anything will done by the U.S. at this point. It’s in China’s best interest to reduce the bad products which come to America, as China still need our dollars in order to continue to growing into the worlds new super power.

I think china will beef up its own self regulation to avoid bad press…they’ll still send the bad stuff to other country’s but not knowingly to the U.S. b/c all it takes is one show on Oprah, and the entire nation would put pressure on Washington to do something. That’s not good press for China and its growing market.
