why was the 1790 naturalization law passed?

Also I was wondering how did this law affect the chinese?
like polictical conditions , economics experiences and social life , etc.

  1. it was started for several reasons. some of the obvious ones included wanting to establish a basis for american citizenship, helping solidify them as a country. in addition, this is when the states were still divided, so the feeling of unity and attempting of a united government was needed. last, more complicated is so that the british would not try to take over the country from the inside, through immigrating or even electing a “british friendly” leader (hence why the electoral college came into power). this effected the chinese later on (actually the only the naturalization la of 1795 effected the chinese) and still had them paid incredibly low wages and treated very poorly, with little food and no say in the matter. for more information i provided a link.
