This is no mandatory vaccination for foreign visitors in China.
I am not sure about immigrants, but there are very few immigrants to China.
Kids in China must take multiple vaccinations. I don’t have the current list. I am sure that the list is mostly similar to the one in the US, with a few differences.

No, it’s not. But if you want to feel safe, just one major vaccination will do. I’m from Singapore, and when i went to China just before the Beijing 2008 Olypmics, i just took a Bird Flu Vaccination. There’s nothing much else you need. Dont’ ask the doctors; they’ll make you take NINE injections. Psst. They want to earn money. Just get a bird flu vaccination. That’s sufficient.

Vaccinations are not required to visit any country, but are highly recommended for many countries. I would recommend getting your basics done if they are not up to date (such as MMR and tetanus) as well as hepatitis A, hepatits B, and typhoid. I lived in China for a year and it was recommended that I get each of these vaccines. For full details on what’s recommended for China, visit the website below.
