Does anyone know what the penalty is if you burn a flag in Cuba, Iran or China? Thanks?

I need the info for an upcoming speech. The reason I’m interested in these countries are that they are the only ones on the planet with a law that bans flag burning in their country. I’ve had awful trouble finding the actual penalty for descration. If you have any info, it would be much appreciated!

  1. The real answer I do not know but let me speculate.

China…if you burn their flag you probably go to prison and they don’t have any other flags to burn,

Iran…if you burn their flag you probably get beheaded or hung but if you burn an American flag you probably get a raise or new better job.

    Cuba…hmmm probably just prison

  2. Burn “a flag”? It depends on whose flag you are burning. On the other hand, while communist-esq countries are harsh on dissent, they often don’t focus on “patriotism” in the same way that we do in the US. The tennents of communism point to a broader world view and are distinctly anti-nationalist. Thus, it is very possible, that no penalties exist at all. But really, it beats me.

  3. They are all comminist governments, except Iran, which are a long way from a republic.

Thats how they keep peole in line!

What is the point of your speech, that America allows it? Well if it were up to the Faxcist Republicans, it would be against the law!

  8. i do agree with natir, burning us flag is not an issue to other countries, but burning other countries flag in their own backyard means something you can get jailed or death for doing that. so be a nationalist on this issue
