Buried in an article about harassment of foreign reporters in China was this:
Conditions have improved, according to two reports issued in the last week by Human Rights Watch and the Foreign Correspondents Club of China. But both reports concluded that the government has not lived up to its promise and that reporters continue to face harassment, detention and stonewalling, especially in rural areas of the country where officials are either unaware of the new rules or ignore them.

What is ALWAYS ignored, in China the central government does not have the strangle hold on the provinces and local officials like the western press assumes. That to change age old practices of harassment of the news media will not happen overnight.
The provinces in China are autonomous, in some respect even more so then in the states. That when Beijing hands down an edict or law, it does not mean the local officials are going to go lock step.

I want to teach back in China, I did teach in Hangzhou but on a tourist visa for 2 weeks last summer and things didn’t work out. My wife got scammed on an apartment, the school was unprofessional, and we hardly had any money to come back to the US. I want to go back to China and try it in one of the bigger cities like Shanghai or Beijing but I am wondering if they will even hire me if I am visually impaired. I do wear glasses but my vision corrected is only at 20/200 in both eyes. I have a Bachelor of Science in Management and a TEFL Certificate but I am wondering if schools will discriminate against me and the laws in China might be different then laws in the US so what is your advice? Can I still teach English (Yes, I do use adaptive equipment and accomodations but I can provide those things myself) in China and would they hire me or does the government of China regulate against people like me. What is your best advice and if I can’t teach in China then where do you recommend I teach
I’m half white/half hispanic and my English is perfect and I do need a high salary since I will be supporting my American-Chinese wife who wants to have a child later on since she said it is cheaper to have a child in China then here in the US. By the way how much is it to have a baby in a hospital in China?
Suppose Congress (or all the state legislatures) were to enact a law similar to China’s one child policy, that made it illegal for a woman to have more than one child. Please don’t tell me why this won’t happen, or whether it would be a good idea or not. My question is whether such a law would be constitutional. And if you say it would be unconstitutional, please cite the provision of the US Constitution that such a law would violate.
Last year on 14 of may the chinesse parliament decided to implement a law that allow china to use military force aggainst taiwan if he decided to independence from china, i need more information of this issue, if you can i need the chinese point of view of the topic
My mother in law is from China and she’s been staying with us for 4 months now helping to care for my son who’s 11 months now. She wants to stay on a little longer just to make sure we can get along without her but her visa ends in 2 months. I went through the extension process myself in China but I don’ know the equivalent of the exit and entry administration here and googleing didn’t go so well. Who has control over her visa if she came in at NY and she’s been living in NJ? Thanks for the help.

Did you see that in China anyone with large dogs had to get rid of them or they would be collected and killed. It is due to a rabies scare. Only small dogs were aloud to be kept. I don’t think everyone was following the law and they were hiding their pets. I think this poison pet food was their next step to insure reduced pet populations. With their one child policy and discarding of young female fetus’s, would you really count it out?
I think this had something to do with that. Only they didn’t expect it to effect America pet food supplies. I think they meant for those foods to be distributed exclusively in China but someone messed up and put it into the U.S. supplies.
It is just to coincidental. A month ago the Chinese are patrolling the streets for loose pets and forcing people to turn in their neighbors if they saw large dogs. Now all of a sudden there is a link to poisoned pet food.

Airsoft has been made illegal in China, and I don’t get why, first of all, a lot of Airsoft gun’s are made in China, second of all, the Chinese government turns a blind eye to the matter, therefore, a lot of people manage to buy airsoft guns, and is pretty much the same thing if they didn’t have the law but the airsoft guns in China are all just crappy plastic, and third of all, I REALLY LOVE AIRSOFT! :'(
I know that he got rid of harsh laws in China after setting up the Han Dynasty and that he stabalized the Chinese society, but how did he affect global history?
