Majdi A asked:

The occupation is illegal under international law. “International humanitarian law prohibits [an] occupying power [from transferring] citizens from its own territory to the occupied territory (Fourth Geneva Convention, article 49).”

Also, if you are paying attention to the news, China is being targeted for violating human rights, but the news fails to mention violations of human rights that the Israeli government is doing to the Palestinians.

I’m in High School. I speak English (duh), Spanish, am currently learning French and plan on (at least attempting) learning Japanese or Chinese so I can have a good communication base for a Business career. I enjoy politics and Law (I like arguing, a lot, believe it or not.) I also like the idea of a career in Finance. What are some careers that I should look into or focus on?

that they could arrest people that violated China’s strict information laws? Yahoo is by far the most cooperative with the Chinese gov in finding Chinese disidetents who contact the outside world and explain the horrors within China. Do you think Yahoo should be punished for their cooperation with such a state that disregards international human rights laws?

What is china’s government

Joe asked:

I know that China is Communist but is doesn’t seem that way at all. They are leaning more towards the west and Capitalism. I mean they even have McDonalds there…

They are also known as the Peoples Republic of China. But a Republic is a government thats rules with law. (A democracy is by the people, oligarchy — ruled by few, etc…etc…) But communism is different than a republic, so why do they call themselves a republic?

So, to slim this question down to the basics:

Why is China considered communist?
Why do they call themselves a republic?
What is China’s actual government?

Also, correct me if I was wrong in anything I said. I believe I have a good understanding on how to differentiate between types of government but I could always wrong.

How many votes does $832 K get asked:

“This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom”.

“We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!”

“Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture”.

“We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us”.
http://miguellomelino.wordpress.com/2008/02/06/john-howard-and-immigrants/

“This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.”
“If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted”.
Quote: “IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians”.
