Not “open” to any country.
China and others do not respect our laws.
If one procures a copyright or a patent in the US, and only in the US, any country in the world can produce that product, and sell it any where in the world, BUT NOT IN THE US.
In order to patent or copyright a work in other or all countries, it is astronomically expensive.
I do not know if protection is even available in China. They are nothing but pirates. And those in the US, even on this site who ask for information on “FREE music or FREE software”, help support that piracy.
I have no idea what you are insinuating by your remarks.
Are you an artist who is being hurt by pirating? If so, you should be aware of these things.

Generally, and as far as I know this applies to ALL countries, there are international trade agreements that compel the different countries to respect each others intellectual property (copyright, brand names, etc). The fact that the Chinese elude such controls, is not one of law but of enforcement. To make the Chinese Govt fall on hard on copyright infringement in that country, has been high on the US agenda for some time now.
