The Diffussion of the Internet in china?

friends1 asked:

China has strengthened its control of internet with an extention of its criminal laws to cover the revealing of state secrets and spreading of computer viruses.the new laws were drafted in order
“to the healthy development of the internet and protect national security.”they also make it an offense “to use the internet to promote religious cults, hurt national security or undermine the government”.these laws raise many concerns as they cause existing problems.Clearly the governments have a strong need to protect their vital interests, but the new laws seem quite sweeping.the vagueness of expressions like hurting National Unity may be particularly awkward-the intention is to prevent sucession, but what constitutes a “nation” is it self arguable.
A) WHAT IMPACTS DO U THINK THESE NEW LAWS WILL HAVE FOR CITIZENS OF CHINA?
B) ARE THESE LAWS REALLY ENFORCEABLE?
C) DO U THINK WE NEED LAWS TO PROMOTE THE
HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERNET?WHAT DO U FEEL UNHEALTHY OF INTERNET?

Laws for adopting Babies from China. Please only serious answers please?

East Coast Yankee asked:

ok here is the deal. My wife and I want to adopt a baby from china. She is indonesian/chinese and I am american(chinese speaker) and we have been married for 5 yrs now. She works for Chase and I, Wachovia.

Ok so everyone knows and understands that for some reason it costs an arm and a leg to adopt.

Now is there a way to go through the adoption agencies through China and not have to go through the hassle and garbage of the US adoption rules and agencies?

I mean we are ready to pluck down the money regardless but does everything have to be done through the US or can we adopt from China and bring over a baby to the US?

Please do not slander me for wanting to adopt a chinese baby. We are not doing it for a tax break, nor are we doing it because it is something we had seen on tv. I am for one in love with the chinese cultures(hence speaking the language) and my wife is part chinese. It is just something we want to do.

And we are just oblivious of the laws. So I guess this
is where our education is going to start.

thanks in advance and I look forward in some great answers.
i appreciate you take on things sunny. so I am a pervert to chinese people because of the love for the culture. and we were thinking of moving there, so I appreciate the insight,

again, please only serious answers to the question. I understand everyony has an opinion and by all means let it out, its fine by me, but if you are knowledgable about the situation, opinions aside, let me know whats up.

but i think everyone hear has answered the question suffice to say.

hey vote for sunny as top contributor!

Joe K asked:

For example, China owns an embassy in the US. Technically the land is on chinese owned soil so that land is subject to the laws, rules of china. What prevents china from buying more land in the US to set up colonies in the US?

What are the abortion options in China? Are there multiple options? I would think with the one child law and all that there would be as many options as in the states.

Is the Western News Media Out to Slander China?

just plain jim asked:

Buried in an article about harassment of foreign reporters in China was this:

Conditions have improved, according to two reports issued in the last week by Human Rights Watch and the Foreign Correspondents Club of China. But both reports concluded that the government has not lived up to its promise and that reporters continue to face harassment, detention and stonewalling, especially in rural areas of the country where officials are either unaware of the new rules or ignore them.

What is ALWAYS ignored, in China the central government does not have the strangle hold on the provinces and local officials like the western press assumes. That to change age old practices of harassment of the news media will not happen overnight.

The provinces in China are autonomous, in some respect even more so then in the states. That when Beijing hands down an edict or law, it does not mean the local officials are going to go lock step.

Can I teach English and will they hire me in China if I am visually impaired?

dmeiske1@att.net asked:

I want to teach back in China, I did teach in Hangzhou but on a tourist visa for 2 weeks last summer and things didn’t work out. My wife got scammed on an apartment, the school was unprofessional, and we hardly had any money to come back to the US. I want to go back to China and try it in one of the bigger cities like Shanghai or Beijing but I am wondering if they will even hire me if I am visually impaired. I do wear glasses but my vision corrected is only at 20/200 in both eyes. I have a Bachelor of Science in Management and a TEFL Certificate but I am wondering if schools will discriminate against me and the laws in China might be different then laws in the US so what is your advice? Can I still teach English (Yes, I do use adaptive equipment and accomodations but I can provide those things myself) in China and would they hire me or does the government of China regulate against people like me. What is your best advice and if I can’t teach in China then where do you recommend I teach
I’m half white/half hispanic and my English is perfect and I do need a high salary since I will be supporting my American-Chinese wife who wants to have a child later on since she said it is cheaper to have a child in China then here in the US. By the way how much is it to have a baby in a hospital in China?
