Before the Canadian pedophile caught by Thailand, there were other cases in East Asian countries. Why do they go to Asian countries to victimize ? Is it because they are taking advantage of the lack of strong law in Asia ? or East Asian culture are timid and being kind to strangers ?
This issue needs be raised among asian communities. Catholic church child molester issue in US is an example. If alarm not being souds out. predators would prey upon more asian kids. More

There is a robust checks and balances in the west. This might turn the child molesters to the East Asian countries where the mild culture can be of easy prey.

Your information is not based on facts. Pedophiles have been caught in many countries, and mostly in western countries since law enforcement is more efficient there. It gets overreported if a foreigner gets caught and probably never gets reported when a local gets caught – and I believe the vast majority involved will be local people.
Before Cambodia was in the news since child prostitution was very open there. Lately there was a crackdown and some people got arrested.
In recent years most western countries stiffened also laws making it an offense to involve in related crimes overseas.
Since this is the China board, I doubt there is much of a problem of foreign pedophile activity in China. Most will be local and therefore doesn’t get reported.

Asian countries need ante-up for the pedophiles. be it form Canada, US or other Western countries. children are defendless. every coutnry are the same. But there is stronger law in the West to protect them.

I hate to say it, the Asian counties you talk about have a on going sex trade, have a lower age of consense and there parents are more than likely to sell there child for such vile acts.

I don’t know anything about real pedophilia in China but I DO know that there’s a lot of young Chinese women, aged 18 to 25 or so who LOOK like they are 14 or 15 (even 12ish sometimes w some of the really tiny girls who work in our shoe factory but I’m told they are all 18 or above to work there. They could be lying but I don’t think they are) if you use western standards to judge age.
It would be easy to hook up with them for a Western guy but they also ACT like they are really young. Not at all interesting to me… I like Chinese women closer to my own age and they still look younger than they are, have beautiful skin etc but deffinitly would not be mistakeable for under age. Well they COULD be mistaken for young 20s even though they are late 20s and early 30s.
But I guess if you liked em young that factor would be a more legal way to get in on that fantasy? Don’t they just kill you for that in China though. They execute drug offenders…
I mean I would think if I was going to really break some laws China would be the LAST place on Earth (accept for maybe Saudi Arabia) that I would do that kind of thing… Taiwan is VERY 1rst world so also I wouldn’t see that one being a place that would make any sense. Singapore would be insanity, they cane you for gum chewing or graffiti. Imagine what they would do to a child molester there. Timid my a$$. They don’t play around with people who are breaking the law of the land. You will be the great white example!
Probably its just the poverty level of country people and the lack of infrastructure in places like Thailand plus the fact that they are quite an attractive people that would make it a target country.
I’ve heard that more of that really goes on in Central/East Europe and S. America though. Maybe there’s just been some high publicity cases in Asia so it seems like the hot bed? All that talk about sex tourism in Pattaya etc…

Have you not heard of former British Rock Star Gary Glitter? He was sentenced to three years in prison in Vietnam for pedophile acts. You don’t want to end up in Southeast Asian prison, it’s like sleeping outside with no real shelter. No decent meals. And definitely no medicine. It’s not tolerated in Vietnam.
